Welshpool

Overview
The tiny town of Welshpool is situated in typically beautiful Prom country. A gorgeous landscape with undulating green hills, and spectacular views to neighbouring beaches. The near by Agnes Falls are the biggest falls in Gippsland.
History
The grazing of cattle on Snake Island was and still is an event carried out nowadays by farmers, stock and horse men, women and children since the mid 1800s. Getting cattle to and from 'The Island' meant driving them approximately 10 to 12 kilometres across the 'Middle Ground' section of the Lewis Channel at the north east end of Corner Inlet.
The historical use of the local ports have been one of the reasons why the small coastal villages along the South East Victoria coastline have endured over the years.
